Tangram, the 1.2 million-square foot mega-development transforming the Flushing lifestyle, will soon be home to one of the most important international restaurant brands. Xiao Long Kan Hot Pot, the second largest hotpot chain in China, just committed to 5,000 square feet at the mixed-use development to open their first US restaurant.

Xiao Long Kan plans to open its first location in North America in the summer of 2020. This hotpot is a popular Sichuan style spicy steamboat chain that has originated from Chongqing.
Recognized across the world as a spicy and delicious cuisine, it is actively expanding into the overseas market. Thus, Xiao Long Kan will soon have more than 1000 locations including new venues in Tokyo, Sydney, Los Angeles, Houston, Toronto, Vancouver, Singapore and other gateway and international cities.
The Tangram development is inspired by the traditional Chinese dissection puzzle “tangram,” which consists of seven flat pieces called tans. Tangram is elevating Flushing through its groundbreaking vision of immersive retail, residential, office and hotel space, featuring 275,000 square feet of high-end curated retail in a multi-level space alongside a sweeping, sky-lit atrium. The development will also have a four-star Renaissance New York Flushing Hotel, a state-of-the-art 4DX movie theater from Regal Cinemas, as well as a food hall and the neighborhood’s first beer garden.
