Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima stars in Marc Jacobs’ new perfume campaign titled “Decadence”
A sensual new fragrance called Decadence joined the ever-expanding world of Marc Jacobs back in June. We present to you the stunning photographs for the campaign shot by Steven Meisel. The fragrance ad features the Brazilian beauty Adriana Lima laying down while biting the chain of the purse-like perfume bottle. The perfume’s design makes it look more like an accessory than a bottle. Staying true to Marc Jacobs form, the packaging is an over-the-top emerald green evening bag complete with gold chain and black tassel embellishment.
I like the idea of that extrovert, that show-off, and I like the things that symbolize her – whether it’s the beads or the feathers or the sequins. I wanted something that evoked the sense of a bag, with python and a gold chain and a black silk tassel, so it had a kind of opulence and glamour and became an object of desire. – Marc Jacobs
Set to be released in October, the Decadence Eux de Parfum will be offered in three sizes — 1 oz. for $70, 1.7 oz. for $95 and 3.4. oz for $120. Also, a $52 body lotion and a $50 bath gel will be available. Created for sophisticated women, Decadence is a sexy scent with top notes that include Italian plum, Iris and Saffron. The core of the perfume is a classic Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine Sambac and Orris, with base notes of Liquid Amber, Vetiver and Papyrus Wood. The scent was developed by Mr. Jacobs and Annie Buzantian at Firmenich.
To promote the fragrance online, Marc Jacobs is asking its social media audience to submit a photo that they believe represents decadence. Photos can be shared via a dedicated Web page for the scent, and those who do are promised a branded filter.
