Exploring the Depths at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi
Beneath the waters of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi awaits a marine paradise, home to eight distinct realms, each with exhilarating rides and attractions.
1. One Ocean
One Ocean is the central hub of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. Here, students can enjoy the stories of One Epic Ocean through a 360-degree screen that stands at an approximate height of 15 meters.
Another can’t-miss destination in this realm is the Animal Care Centre. Here, students can observe SeaWorld Abu Dhabi veterinarians and animal care specialists perform health checks and medical treatments in real time.
They can also interact with the park’s onsite educators and ask questions about marine life anatomy and behavior.
2. Abu Dhabi Ocean
At Abu Dhabi Ocean, students can learn how Bedouin families used to comb the waters in search of precious pearls to trade. This tale is told through the live performances “A Pearl Diver’s Life” and “The Fisherman and The Mermaid.”
This dynamic realm also features interactive touch pools for hands-on experiences with various sea species and showcases dugongs, sea snakes, and rays in their natural habitats.
3. Rocky Point
Rocky Point is where students will find The Sea Lions’ Coastal Habitat with America’s Pacific Northwest as its backdrop. It includes a number of interactive boards for young learners to understand how sea lions move and learn from their environment.
In this zone, students witness how SeaWorld uses technology to generate water motion and wave effects to maintain variability in the environment and keep its inhabitants active and stimulated.
There’s also the “Feed the Sea Lions” activity, where students get to interact with these majestic animals.
4. MicroOcean
Now, for a mid-day break, students can head to MicroOcean — a zone offering interactive experiences and thrilling rides. A must-try here is the Kelp Climb, a structure that looks just like a giant kelp underwater. It’s an exciting challenge for children to climb and explore the different levels.
The Eel Racer is another fan favorite at MicroOcean. On this wild ride, students experience a thrilling eel’s-eye view of the MicroOcean with its many twists and turns.
5. Tropical Ocean
The Tropical Ocean realm offers a dolphin presentation that’s bound to captivate students. Watching these intelligent creatures perform acrobatic feats will surely spark children’s curiosity about dolphin behavior and how they communicate with each other.
There are also several tropical birds in this area for the young learners to observe, like flamingos and colorful macaws. In this realm, eight dining options are available should students and teachers feel like having a meal or snack.
6. The Arctic
The Arctic is home to the walrus habitat. It also features otters, puffins, seals and various types of cold-water fish.
In this zone, students can climb aboard the Ahmed Ibn Majid Research Vessel, named after the renowned Arab navigator and cartographer, and participate in all kinds of research and educational experiences. Then there’s also the Hypersphere 360° ride, a multimedia sphere that simulates an underwater journey.
7. Antarctica
Antarctica, part of the Polar Ocean realms, is the ideal place for students to learn about the wildlife native to this environment. Here, they can come face-to-face with king and gentoo penguins and four other species of this lovable bird.
They can also learn how this zone uses a zoological lighting system to recreate Antarctica’s seasonal changes, providing optimal living conditions for its six resident species.
8. Endless Ocean
The so-called Endless Ocean is a massive multi-species aquarium housing over 68,000 creatures, including scalloped hammerheads, black-tip sharks, cownose rays, sand tiger sharks, as well as hundreds of schools of colorful fish.
Young learners can view this realm from multiple levels and use the graphics and screens found everywhere to select and zoom in on the species they want to learn more about. As students explore, they’ll find experts ready to answer questions and engage in one-on-one conversations.
An Educational Experience Like No Other
Educational and cultural school trips in the UAE don’t come any better than a visit to SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. With its mix of unforgettable experiences, live performances, fascinating marine life and interactive activities, there’s something for every student to engage with in this marine wonderland.
