A new luxury resort in Montauk, Marram Montauk, announced its official reopening for the season. The resort, which has long been a place for noteworthy surfers to gather, offers Retrospec cruiser bike rentals, nature walks in the scenic bluffs of Shadmoor State Park, and surf lessons with legendary Engstrom Surf.
Situated directly on the Atlantic Ocean, Marram Montauk was collaboratively designed by Bridgeton Holdings and Brooklyn-based Post Company. It features 96 guest rooms, an open communal lounge, and an on-property counter service South American café. The resort also offers a surf shack and lessons by three world-renowned surfers Leif Engstrom, Ariel Engstrom, and Lexi Engstrom.
Named after the wild grass that grows on the sand dunes surrounding the property, Marram’s design draws inspiration from Montauk’s natural charm. The hotel’s main entry is framed with wild botanical balusters and the lobby oozes a raw warmth with its unfinished white oak walls. The building’s exterior is clad in hand-trimmed cedar with walkways connecting various rooms and spaces framed with custom Mahogany handrails.
The guestrooms and suites boast exposed white oak lumber beams, hand-textured plaster walls, polished concrete flooring, handwoven, naturally dyed rugs by In Residence, and bedside tables and stools made from solid Suar wood. The walls of each room are garnished with works from the renowned beach and surf photographer Brian Bielmann and minimalist line-work from Rhode Island-based musician and artist Sean Spellman.
Led by Fernando Trocca of the beloved Mostrador Santa Teresita, and Martín Pittaluga of the lauded Parador La Huella, Mostrador Marram – the hotel’s on-property café – serves a menu of South American summer fare wholly unique to Montauk.
Marram is located alongside Shadmoor State Park, which offers hiking and biking trails throughout its scenic bluffs, and just a short bike ride to Camp Hero Park.
For its reopening, the resort is offering two packages including the City and Sea package with sister properties Walker Hotel Tribeca & Walker Hotel Greenwich Village. Guests who book a two-night stay at Marram receive a free night stay at one of the brand’s New York City hotels – in an effort to celebrate New York City’s rebound and get people to stay and play in their own city.
