At the new Milan retail store, situated in the heart of Italy’s design capital, Maserati unveiled its latest GranTurismo. The GranTurismo Launch Edition PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary was the star of the show, along with three other exquisite vehicles – the GranTurismo One-Off Prisma and GranTurismo One-Off Luce, designed by the talented team at Maserati Centro Stile, and the GranTurismo One-Off Ouroboros, a unique creation inspired by Japanese street culture pioneer and friend of the Trident, Hiroshi Fujiwara.
The GranTurismo One Off Prisma is a true masterpiece of craftsmanship and art, featuring the powerful Nettuno V6 internal combustion engine, which pays homage to the heritage of this legendary car. The bodywork is a stunning chromatic collaboration of 14 distinct colors, all meticulously painted by hand. Every inch of the car is adorned with more than 8,500 letters, each applied and varnished by hand, showcasing the names of Maserati’s most iconic cars. The color palette includes two forward-looking hues, while the other 12 were selected from the most beloved GranTurismo models of the past. The distinctive Amaranto was taken from the 1947 Maserati A6 1.500, and the Oro Longchamps was inspired by the 1973 Maserati Khamsin.
The GranTurismo One-Off Luce is a remarkable testament to Maserati’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The car is powered by a full-electric Folgore engine, representing Maserati’s relentless pursuit of cutting-edge technology. The car’s design is equally impressive, featuring an original chromatic mirrored monolith with a dynamic laser-etched pattern. The car is painted in an almost invisible color that seamlessly blends into its surroundings, further emphasizing its sleek design. The car’s interior is equally impressive and reflects Maserati’s dedication to sustainability. The interior is made of ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon yarn that transforms the car’s monochromatic blue interior into an ode to the sea from which the sustainable material was derived. The seat shapes are accentuated by the few graphics present on the central parts, which are lasered with a gradient backing in contrast. The interior and exterior reflect contrasting techniques, showcasing the mirror that almost conceals the car and the laser that creates a bold and deep impression of Maserati’s technical prowess, beauty, and soul.
Maserati GranTurismo One-Off Ouroboros is a virtual Fuoriserie GranTurismo, designed in collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara, a leading figure in street culture innovation. This exceptional vehicle represents Fujiwara’s creative vision of the contemporary GranTurismo in its full-electric Folgore form, seamlessly blending design elements from a carefully curated selection of Maserati’s past models. Inspired by the gnostic symbol of the ‘Ouroboros’, which signifies the unity of all things that perpetually change form in an eternal cycle of destruction and recreation, Fujiwara has created a one-of-a-kind car that pays homage to Maserati’s iconic designs of the past. The GranTurismo Ouroboros incorporates design features such as the front grill of the A6GCS Berlinetta Pininfarina and the side vents of the 3500 GT, which were emblematic of the elegance of the 1950s. It also features the covered round headlights that were characteristic of the 1960s racers, such as the Maserati Tipo 151. The new forged wheels have been inspired by the pioneering magnesium alloy wheels that were introduced by the Bora in the 1970s. Additionally, the connected taillight fascia is a direct reference to the ground-breaking design of the Shamal, which was produced in the 1980s and 1990s.
The GranTurismo Launch Edition PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary is a celebration of the perfect balance between aesthetics and function. It represents the epitome of Italian luxury, combining outstanding performance with a refined sense of style. This limited edition model comes in four unique configurations, with a total of only 300 units produced: 75 for each version with an internal combustion engine, available in Grigio Lamiera and Nero Cometa colors, and 75 for the electric Folgore version, which comes in Rame Folgore and Blu Inchiostro hues.
