Maserati Quattroporte has just undergone a substantial update for the 2017 look. The Italian company has officially unveiled the refreshed vehicles which are offered in two trim variants GranLusso and GranSport. Both are immediately recognisable thanks to their distinct exterior design and unique interiors. The restyled Quattroporte, representing the quintessence of Italian sport saloons, will be available from June 2016.
The luxury-focused Maserati Quattroporte GranLusso stands out thanks to its new front lower fascia design coupled with an elegant floating bridge element, a delicate spoiler and the chrome bumper finish. The profile incorporates side skirts, while on the rear the look is even cleaner, characterized by a sculptured retroreflector and a body colored spoiler. The style of exterior is completed by 20” Mercurio rims and black painted brake calipers.
The Maserati Quattroporte GranLusso is perfected with the help of the Ermenegildo Zegna Edition interior that features a patented silk fabric on seats, doors, headliner and sun visors. The cabin ambience is further refined thanks to the exclusive open pore Radica wood on the dashboard and the leather steering wheel with wooden inserts. The trim integrates comfort-oriented equipment like the power foot pedals, the electric rear sunblind, the four-zone air conditioning, the heated rear seat and the extended keyless entry.
As the name implies, the Maserati Quattroporte GranSport trim accentuates the sporty character of the car. The restyled front enhances the cooling function while the back is characterized by an evident composition between a centre fuselage and two side pockets. The lower fascia is linked to the grille with aerodynamic inspired splits and an aggressive looking black piano spoiler completes the rear view. The GranSport cars get 21-inch wheels and carbon fiber accents.
The interior of the Quattroporte GranSport includes redesigned front and rear seats, with their sculptured profiles. To create a strong identity, the car features a new sport steering wheel, in carbon fibre or full leather. Due to the high gloss Piano Black wood trim on the dashboard, the brand new sport seats, the sport steering wheel fitted with aluminium gearshift paddles and the stainless steel sport pedals.
All new Quattroporte models get a new infotainment system that brings an 8.4-inch touchscreen that is now compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Nothing much has changed under the hood of the 2017 Maserati. The base model is the Quattroporte S with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 delivering 404 horsepower. Opt for all-wheel drive and the output is bumped to 410 hp. The Quattroporte GTS comes with rear-wheel drive only and a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 delivering 523 hp. Both have a standard 8-speed automatic and accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds or less.
