This high-tech watercraft transforms from a monohull, to catamaran, to trimaran, to a hydrofoil speedboat.
Kormaran
The Austrian company Kormaran invested 10 million euro in their new vessel that features the innovative patented technology and also adds its name into the common classification of boats. Thus we know monohull, catamaran, trimaran and the brand new type of boat that links the style of luxury yachts with the world of supercars – the Kormaran.
The Kormaran is a 23-foot speedboat that transforms into six configurations with the push of a button. It conjoins the mobility of a monohull for quick manoeuvres with the stability of a catamaran or trimaran. The powerboat can transform into a large bathing platform, a luxury incomparable to many of tender designs currently available. The Kormaran can be driven in shallow waters, as well as being able to land on shore. The man behind the project, Dr. Oliver Kormann similizes his creation with Bugatti or Aston Martin and claims
The goal was to combine the experience of driving a cabriolet-style super sports car with the precise construction techniques used in the aviation industry
Created out of carbon fiber, the Kormaran features flaunts formula 1 technology combined with lightweight aircraft technology and the latest security features. At top speed, the boat can run 44 knots in hydrofoil form. The use of hydrofoils means that water resistance can be reduced by up to 80%, resulting in higher speeds with lower energy consumption and much more comfortable ride thanks to the decoupling of the waves.
Whenthe luxurious Kormaran is on the Bathing Mode, the vessel lifts its 11-foot, 5-inch-wide teak platform from the sides to the center of the boat, giving a spacious spot for sunbathing and relaxation. When day turns into night, the boat activates red LED lights and aquamarine strip lighting for perfect and romantic stargazing experience.
