Nauta Design‘s MOONFLOWER 72 project was first announced in May 2022, and since then, it has been making steady progress at the Wider Superyacht Hub in Porto Marghera, Venice. The keel-laying ceremony was held three months later, and the construction of the yacht is now underway. The MOONFLOWER 72 boasts a sleek and elegant design with minimalistic lines that lend it a contemporary look. One of the standout features of the yacht is its innovative beach club arrangement, which offers an unparalleled on-water experience for guests.
The profile design and exterior social spaces of the vessel were meticulously crafted after extensive research and analysis. At first sight, the yacht exudes a sense of severity, with its streamlined form resembling a sharp knife cutting through the water. However, upon closer inspection, one can discern the intricate interplay of aggressive longitudinal plans and organic contours, which are further accentuated by chamfered folds and well-balanced volumes.
The vessel’s overall aesthetic exudes a commanding personality and expressive force while also evoking a sense of tranquility and liberty. This stylistic language is a careful balance of masculine and feminine forms, all while adhering to the requirements of practicality and functionality in the vessel’s design and construction.
Furthermore, Nauta Design’s patented beach club concept, ‘The Island’, is an innovative addition to the yacht. The beach club comprises multiple fold-down platforms that expand the swim platform and beach area, covering an impressive 117 sqm. The indoor and outdoor areas are seamlessly connected, enabling guests to move freely around the aft perimeter of the vessel for an unparalleled on-water experience on a 72-meter superyacht.
The yacht is equipped with a state-of-the-art hybrid propulsion system, which includes two variable-speed generators, each with a power output of 1,860 kW, and a sodium nickel battery bank with an approximate capacity of 1 MW. This cutting-edge system ensures optimal fuel efficiency and reduces emissions, making it an eco-friendly choice for the discerning yachtsman. The hybrid propulsion system also provides a quieter and more comfortable experience for guests on board.
