Move over cappuccino, latte, and espresso, it’s National Espresso Martini Day and this sophisticated coffee drink packs way more of a punch than your average mug. Espresso Martinis have been taking bars (and house parties) by storm since their invention in SoHo back in the ’80s. And, it’s easy to see why – this utterly delicious iced brew (usually made with espresso, vodka, liqueur and simple syrup) helps to unwind after a long day or celebrate an epic start to the night.
National Espresso Martini Day is coming up next week (March 15th) and what better way to celebrate this holiday than to try out this coffee-meets-liquor drink with different spirits? Whether you have the taste for tequila or your go-to is gin, there is an espresso martini recipe perfect for you.
NOLET’S Gin Espresso Martini
- 1.5 oz. NOLET’S Silver Gin
- 1.5 oz. Fresh Espresso
- 0.25 oz. Cointreau
- 0.25 oz. Simple Syrup
- Optional, Dash of Orange Bitters
- Coffee Bean or Orange Slice to Garnish
Add all liquid ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice (except bitters). Shake for 10 to 15 seconds and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a dash of orange bitters, coffee beans, and/or an orange wheel. Cheers!
PATRÓN Silver Espresso Martini
- 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
- 1.5 oz Chilled Espresso
- .5 oz Demerara Syrup
- +1 small pinch of Sea Salt
Combine Patron Silver, chilled espresso, a pinch of salt, and Demerara syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a cocktail coupe and garnish with 3 coffee beans. This cocktail is sure to tantalize even the most discerning taste buds.
