This year marks the 60th anniversary of The Rolling Stones and American watches, accessories and audio brand Nixon unveiled a two-part, limited-edition capsule collection of timepieces, replacement watch bands, and other accessories decorated with one of the most famous logos in rock-and-roll. The Nixon x The Rolling Stones collab spans the high and low end of the Nixon spectrum across some of Nixon’s best-selling and most popular timepieces. Produced in partnership with Bravado, the five-watch release includes the limited edition Primacy, the oversized 51-30 Chronograph, two Time Teller analog models, and the digital Staple model. Replacement bands are also a part of the release.
The Rolling Stones Primacy ($1,600)
Elegantly molded hands of The Rolling Stones Primacy rotate around the woven Tongue logo and bluesy date window. Japanese-made, mechanical automatic three-hand with sweeping seconds and a custom engraved rotor ensure precise timekeeping. Its brushed five-link, 20mm stainless-steel band, and custom, solid stainless-steel deployment clasp provides multi-point flexibility for superior comfort and security. Anti-glare sapphire crystal, scratch-resistant coating, and 10 ATM / 100m water rating ensure a long life. Since the watcht never needs batteries, it may last forever, just like the Stones. Only 250 units of this elegant automatic are produced.
The Rolling Stones 51-30 ($550)
The oversized 51-30 us named after the face size (51mm) and water rating (30 ATM). It features the neon sign font, classic Tongue logo, and a rock ‘n’ roll subdial harkens back to the Stones’ early London club shows. The crown and pushers are positioned on the 9 o’clock side of the case instead of 3 o’clock to prevent “wrist bite” during active use. Four-hand quartz with a rock ‘n’ roll subdial provides an analog countdown to when the show starts.
The Rolling Stones Time Teller ($175)
The Rolling Stones Time Teller is available in two distinct treatments: the all-gold version plays heavy with the classic Tongue on an all-gold face with tonal gold indices and hands; the all-red version features the Spiked Tongue logo first made famous on t-shirts for the Voodoo Lounge tour. The watch features a 10 ATM / 100m water rating.
The Rolling Stones Staple ($175)
This standout digital features the bright yellow case artwork which is inspired by the Voodoo Lounge album, offset by a black performance band that features Nixon and The Rolling Stones iconography. The Rolling Stones Staple is constructed from Nixon’s Other People’s Plastic material made from ocean plastic. It has razor-thin profile, customizable display, and performance-driven band.
Replacement Bands ($40-$50)
Owners of these watches can customize them with various bands. Two Rolling Stones 20mm Recycled NATO Bands ($40) incorporate The Rolling Stones’ signature or the Tattoo You album on one-piece straps that are quick-drying and durable. The 23mm FKM Rubber Band is soft to the touch, features quick-release spring bars for easy changing and stands out with a pattern inspired by the Voodoo Lounge album’s artwork.
The first installment of the Nixon x The Rolling Stones collection will be available online and select Nixon retailers worldwide beginning August 30, 2022.
