The ultra-luxury tropical retreat and the first One&Only resort in Asia, One&Only Desaru Coast, reopened on 6 September 2020. Designed by the award-winning Kerry Hill Architects, the design of One&Only Desaru Coast is inspired by the traditional Malaysian ‘kampung’ (‘village’). Each stand-alone suite faces either the ocean or rainforests. Spread across 128 acres, the resort has an intimate collection of just 42 Junior Suites, two expansive two-bedroom Grand Suites and an exclusive four-bedroom Villa One. All boast private plunge pools, abundant indoor and outdoor living spaces, beautiful bathrooms and thoughtful Malaysian-inspired design features.
Ember Beach Club is a unique beachside venue. Led by critically acclaimed Chef Andrew Walsh, the club offers an exciting culinary program inspired by the age-old tradition of open-fire cooking; refined with Asian flavors. There, guests can enjoy fresh juices or expertly prepared cocktails from their own sun lounger, shaded cabana, or the open-air terraced bar which overlooks the two infinity pools and a pristine beach.
One&Only Desaru Coast’s restaurants and bars offer the seasonal generosity of the region’s land and sea. Ambara serves cuisine from the Mediterranean coasts using produce from local farmers and the Chef’s Garden. Hoshi is the resort’s signature Japanese restaurant, while Essential is the place to sample vibrant flavors of Malaysia.
The Chenot Spa offers a curated menu built around four pillars – Sport & Physical Activities, Emotional Wellbeing, Nutrition, and Aesthetics. One, two, and three-day programs include tailored nutritional menus, fitness schedules, targeted spa treatments and stress-relieving activities.
