Mercedes-Maybach presents its first all-electric series model – the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV. It is based on the technology of the EQS SUV from Mercedes-EQ which is combined with the exclusivity of Maybach.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV has an output of 484 kW and a range of up to 600 kilometres (provisional figure). It has 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard.
Mercedes-Maybach has added exclusive elements to the design of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV from Mercedes-EQ, giving it a unique character. The Mercedes star is on the hood and the front has a black panel with chrome-plated trim strips. The radar sensor is integrated and not visible. The side features chrome surrounds on the windows, a Maybach emblem on the D-pillar, and pronounced wheel arches with high-gloss black claddings. The rear has a continuous light strip with a two-part helix and chrome trim elements, as well as the MAYBACH lettering. The two-tone paintwork is available in five color combinations. DIGITAL LIGHT welcomes and says goodbye to the driver with a special light show. The luxury SUV sits on exclusive 21 or 22-inch alloy and forged wheels.
The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV looks beautiful and follows the Maybach philosophy of combining form and function. The front passengers can enjoy the standard MBUX Hyperscreen, which has three displays and a special Mercedes-Maybach start-up animation. The interior is elegant with a deep blue color scheme and many exclusive features, including an animated instrument cluster in “MAYBACH” mode. The pointers on the gauges move like a silk scarf blowing in the wind and the digits change size and fade in and out depending on the driving conditions. The round gauges have rose gold surrounds, which is a signature of the Maybach brand. If you prefer a more sporty look, there is an alternative display mode called “Pure EV” that uses a three-dimensional performance bar to show the driving status. The rear passengers experience the same extensive range of infotainment and comfort features with two 11.6-inch displays on the backrests of the front seats. With the standard MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment, content can be shared quickly and easily on various displays.
The new SUV comes standard with Maybach Exclusive Nappa leather in the warm colors espresso brown/balao brown pearl. Macchiato beige/bronze brown pearl is optionally available. For an even more sophisticated look, Maybach MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather is available as an option in crystal white/silver grey pearl.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is the first car from Mercedes-Benz AG to have vegetable-tanned leather seats. The tanning process uses coffee bean shells instead of harmful chemicals, and the water used is recycled in a closed system and returned to natural bodies of water. The tanning agents are also plant-based, and the leather is not preserved with salt, which saves about 45 kilograms of salt per car. The by-products of tanning are used to make new products such as compostable flowerpots, insulating foams, and decking boards, making the process resource-saving. Coffee farmers also benefit from selling their coffee bean shells for tanning.
