The collaboration celebrates the hybridity of their rich but contrasting shared brand DNA, combining progressive with timeless, performance-led with casual, and traditional with innovative.
The inspiration for this unique collaboration stems from the Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG, affectionately known as the Red Pig. This legendary race car, a predecessor of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, defied expectations in 1971 by finishing second in the grueling 24 Hours of Spa. The full-size luxury sedan, considered an underdog on the racetrack, became a symbol of AMG’s determination and innovation.
The capsule collection, available at AMG Speed City in Las Vegas, USA until 12 noon on Friday, November 17, 2023, and exclusively on Nordstrom.com, draws on the Red Pig’s motifs. However, the execution is unmistakably sacai, infusing dynamic badges across an array of luxury ready-to-wear staples and accessories. The result is a fresh perspective on familiar fashion archetypes, reflecting sacai’s design codes and intellectual approach to garment and accessory design.

This creative interpretation of the Red Pig’s design codes showcases sacai’s masterful craft and textural play, with the Red Pig’s motifs abstracted and given three-dimensional form on a mirrored-chrome skin.
