Richard Mille RM 07-02 Pink Lady Sapphire watch is the latest addition to the Swiss luxury watchmaker’s sapphire collection
The new Richard Mille RM 07-02, dubbed the Pink Lady Sapphire, is an automatic marvel encased entirely in Pink Sapphire. Inspired by the namesake cocktail, the new $980,000 Pink Lady timepiece is made from the same sort of synthetic sapphire used for watch crystals that has to undergo intricate manufacturing processes.
Richard Mille RM 07-02 Pink Lady Sapphire watch is as sophisticated and complex as any other watches created by the ace of horology. It all starts with the artificially created block of Pink Sapphire going through a 40 days long milling process. The result is the sapphire case that needs to be sufficiently pure to allow the light to shine through without inclusions. The cost to Richard Mille of making one of these cases is more than a lot of luxury watches cost at retail. The central dial section is a piece of smokey Mother of Pearl, and set around the dial and into the winding rotor on the back are dozens of small Diamonds.
Richard Mille RM 07-02 Pink Lady Sapphire rocks an automatic caliber protected by a pink sapphire case. The movement is made from solid red Gold, including the winding rotor, with a grained finish and beveled edges throughout. The skeletonizing displays the mechanics inside while leaving enough Gold to let the wearer admire it. The strap in white alligator skin adds the perfect finishing touch to this exceptional creation.
