Located on the stunning and tranquil Maltese island of Comino, Six Senses Comino will offer a truly unique and unforgettable vacation experience. This exclusive resort will span two picturesque bays and boasts an exceptional array of amenities and activities to satisfy every guest. Six Senses Comino is situated on the stunning shores of San Niklaw and San Marija bays, both of which boast breathtaking sunrise views. These two distinct sites are seamlessly linked by a beautiful coastal path, offering guests an opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the island.
The 71 low-rise suites at Six Senses Comino, designed by Belvedere Architecture, will offer guests stunning views of the bay and easterly vistas across the Mediterranean Sea from their private decks. Using a natural palette of stone and timber, the design seamlessly blends with the island’s geology and garigue shrubland, creating comfortable and spacious accommodations that feel like an extension of Comino’s natural beauty. The suites will feature full-height openings and terraces that blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting guests to immerse themselves in nature and enjoy star gazing from the comfort of their room. The upper two floors will boast double-aspect terraces, allowing guests to follow the sun from sunrise yoga to a sunset cocktail. Guests will be able to also enjoy the private rock pools, created by the resort’s infinity pools on the ground floor.
Guests will enjoy exclusive access to San Niklaw bay, as well as a large communal swimming pool and deck area served by a bar and grill. The resort’s signature restaurant will feature fresh produce sourced from the local Maltese farming community, and guests can also enjoy a destination bar and lobby bar for refreshing drinks and cocktails. Parents can enjoy lazy al fresco lunches or peruse classic literature in the library lounge while their children are entertained by the resort’s Grow With Six Senses program. This innovative program keeps children and teens engaged in the six dimensions of wellness, including social, environmental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual well-being. The 1,000-square-meter Six Senses Spa will offer locally inspired treatments, longevity therapies, and personalized wellness programs.
Nestled along the east-facing shoreline, a collection of 19 standalone retreats at Six Senses Comino offer two to four bedrooms and are thoughtfully designed to ensure harmony between the built and natural environment. Each retreat boasts green roofing and is seamlessly stepped to follow the natural terrain, creating a beautiful and unobtrusive design that blends in with the surrounding landscape. Guests will enjoy a large garden and secluded central courtyard with a private pool in each retreat, creating a tranquil oasis to unwind and relax. The retreats provide access to all of the resort facilities in San Niklaw, as well as being serviced by a separate clubhouse featuring a restaurant and piazza with views over Santa Marija bay.
Six Senses Comino is committed to upholding Comino’s ambitious sustainability vision through practical measures and rigorous design. HV Hospitality, a subsidiary of Hili Ventures, has taken a holistic design strategy to respect all aspects of the Natura 2000 Management Plan. This strategy involves carefully dismantling existing structures, regenerating important portions of disturbed land, and reducing the height of the retreats to a single level to improve the skyline.
To ensure a sensitive and sustainable construction strategy, the resort has opted for the use of timber. This choice offers low embodied energy and is compatible with prefabrication. Additionally, the use of hard stone cladding significantly contributes to the resort’s low-carbon and LEED certification objectives. Furthermore, energy consumption will be drastically reduced through natural cross-ventilation, thermal mass, and the installation of low-consumption systems and solar thermal units.
The resort has set a target open date for 2027.
