Inspired by the serenity of the new Rolls-Royce Phantom, grime artist Skepta created and recorded an entire music track whilst driving through the Swiss Alps. Mercury Music Prize and MOBO award-winning musician, whose real name is Joseph Junior Adenuga, has recorded ‘Skepta RR’ while being chauffeured along the banks of Lake Lucerne and through the mountains of Switzerland.
He admitted: “The Phantom really takes you away. I stepped in the car and there was no need to think. It was like sitting in first class on a plane minus the noise. Comfortable and silent, a perfect space to make music.”
I want to welcome Skepta to the World of Rolls-Royce. He has shown a unique and exciting appreciation of the marque and interpreted Phantom’s credentials as the world’s quietest and most luxurious motor car with an exceptionally creative track and film. – Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars
Phantom’s standing as the longest existing nameplate in the world of motoring is testament to its enduring appeal to rock stars, royalty, titans of industry and the stars of the silver screen.
