Gucci has teamed up with SUPERPLASTIC, a global entertainment brand of designer toys and digital collectibles, to create a series of NFTs dropping February 1st on Gucci Vault. Gucci Vault is the luxury fashion brand’s platform for objects that defy the confines of time and space through the power of imagination.
SUPERGUCCI is a 3-part series of super-limited NFTs co-created by Gucci’s head of design Alessandro Michele and synthetic artists Janky & Guggimon. In the first release, the famous SuperJanky figure finds itself within ten different whimsical scenarios inspired by Gucci Aria.
Each NFT includes classic Gucci patterns and comes with an exclusive 8-inch tall white ceramic SUPERGUCCI SuperJanky sculpture, hand-crafted by Gucci’s own ceramicists in Italy.
SUPERPLASTIC is a character-based product company that creates limited edition art toys, apparel, games, and animation. The company’s talent list includes Instagram and TikTok sensations Janky & Guggimon, Dayzee & Staxx, Kranky, ShüDog, and more. Based in Burlington, Vermont, it was created by artist and entrepreneur Paul Budnitz (Kidrobot, Ello, Budnitz Bicycles), while famous toy artist Huck Gee oversees art and production. Most SUPERPLASTIC drops sell out in minutes, and many go up in value in aftermarket sales. The company continues to collaborate with brands and celebrities including the Gorillaz, Rico Nasty, J. Balvin, Steve Aoki, Addfuel, McBess, Seen, FACT, County of Milan, Volkswagen, Oscar Meyer — and many others.
