Italian boutique shipyard Tankoa has set its sights on creating a masterpiece with the construction of a 56-meter full-custom superyacht, the Tankoa T560 Apache. This ambitious project, led by designer Alberto Mancini, is a testament to the seamless fusion of Italian craftsmanship and American style, resulting in a yacht that promises to redefine luxury on the high seas.
The inspiration for the Tankoa T560 Apache stems from Mancini’s earlier design, the 76-meter T760 Apache, unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2021. Scaling down such a grand design presented a unique challenge, but the Tankoa team, in collaboration with the Mancini studio, eagerly embraced the opportunity. Claudio Corvino, Sales and Business Development Manager at Tankoa, notes the task was to replicate the sleek and elegant design of the larger version while maximizing internal space without compromising on luxury.
Tankoa’s dedication to meeting the specific needs of their clients is evident in the T560 Apache’s design. Developed for a young American couple, the project began at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2022, with Fraser Yachts USA playing an integral role in both the sale and project development. J.D. Crawford from Fraser USA emphasizes the collaborative effort, stating, “Tankoa’s deep understanding led to the successful design of a vessel tailored precisely to the client’s requirements.”
The yacht’s bridge deck offers unparalleled views for the captain, crew, and guests interested in the piloting experience. The main helm’s strategic positioning frees up the upper deck for a remarkable feature—the owner’s suite. Positioned forward, the suite boasts panoramic views, a private terrace with a 5.5-meter flying pool, and an alfresco lounge area with a central firepit. The upper deck further impresses with an aft terrace for alfresco dining, creating an inviting atmosphere for relaxation.
The T560 Apache’s interior is a masterpiece of design, featuring beach-chic communal areas. Five guest suites, including a full-beam VIP suite, occupy the main deck, a rarity for a yacht of this size. The lower deck accommodates the crew’s generous quarters, while the midships area caters to the owner and guests with a wellness center and a gym, complete with a drop-down waterside terrace.
A highlight of the yacht is the beach club and waterside aft deck, seamlessly connecting the interior and exterior. With a 4-meter glass pool and drop-down side balconies, this area transforms into a vast 90-square-meter play-space. The T560 Apache’s design emphasizes the seamless flow from the inside to the outside, maintaining an invitingly informal layout that conceals the yacht’s impressive 840GT volume.
