With less people traveling home for the holiday, residential developments are bulking up programming within the next two weeks to keep their community strong. Luxury developments across the United States are offering guests a range of feasting and entertainment options to celebrate Thanksgiving Day safely during the pandemic. From a Thanksgiving cooking class via zoom to a virtual wine tasting event, below are four ways residential developments are celebrating the holiday.
50 West, NYC
At 50 West, Axiom Amenities is hosting a Thanksgiving cooking class via zoom where residents will learn how to host Thanksgiving like a sommelier. The class will be led by Chef and Sommelier, Ryan Smith. Chef Smith promises that by the end, participants will be ready to talk like a Somm and show guests there is more to Thanksgiving than Beaujolais Nouveau.
525 West 52nd Street, NYC
Leading up to Thanksgiving, in partnership with LIVunLtd., residents at the luxury rental 525 West 52nd Street can take part in a Gratitude Meditation as well as a Harvest Bouquets pop-up shop. With fresh blooms from the designers of Uprooted Flower Truck, the pop-up will offer pre-arranged bud vase arrangements for a seamless, no-contact grab-and-go (while supplied last)! In addition, through a partnership with Social Studies, residents will receive 10% off all purchases – just in time to create the Instagram-worthy Thanksgiving tablescape of their dreams.
Reach and Rise Residences at Brickell City Centre, Miami, Florida
Living the true live, work and play lifestyle in a mixed-use development, the developers, Swire Properties, are working with its tenant from the 500,000 sq. ft. retail center – Luna Park – to plan a virtual wine tasting event for the residents living in the two condo towers – Reach and Rise. The developers want to ensure that the residents feel safe and have a moment to celebrate the holidays with their neighbors.
Drewery Place, Houston, Texas

The developers, Caydon, launched a fitness program entitled, Laneways Fit Fam. From community events to the fitness classes, the residents built a friendship and are now hosting a Friendsgiving with catered meals in the 27-story tower’s sky lounge. Keeping the residents’ healthy and safety top of mind, they will be socially distanced, and the meals will be packaged individually. In addition to the FitFam Friendsgiving event, Caydon also be collecting nonperishables for Houston’s Food Bank this holiday season. Residents are invited to drop off donations in Drewery Place’s lobby.
