Buildings are planning social events, group cooking or mixology classes, and a bunch of other activities within their common spaces so residents can integrate and get to know one another. Brooklyn Point
Brooklyn Point is currently the borough’s tallest tower at 720 feet and will offer luxury homes with amazing views as well as over 40,000 square feet of amenities. Other integrative events include Salads at the Spa with healthy bowls from Two Tablespoons, Street Food Saturdays in the Chef’s Demonstration Kitchen by Jianbing Company, Sunday Bun-Day at the Landscaped Terrace with delicious buns from Bunsmith, and Barquque and Sports in the Screening Room with wings, pork ribs and fries by Fletcher’s Brooklyn Barbecue, the perfect space to watch a sports game. Some of the additional exciting activations planned at the building include kid-friendly programming as well as private beer, wine and cocktail events.
Gateway
Nestled in the lush greenery and waterfront parks of NYC’s coveted Battery Park City neighborhood, Gateway is a peaceful residential oasis comprised of six high-rise buildings with breathtaking harbor and city views. Classes are open to all residents over the age of 21 and take place throughout the year, making the waterfront developments the perfect place to meet your next best friend. Similarly, Urby offers a variety of classes that get their residents to mingle. Jersey City Urby’s on-site creative lab hosts a terrarium-making class, getting residents to create more green space in their homes, or practice new beverage recipes featuring fresh ingredients with mixology lessons. In Staten Island, sushi and empanada-making classes are held, along with wine tastings and pairings through seasonal dinner parties led by farmer-in-residence Olivia Gamber and local chefs from the restaurants within Urby. Designed to create and inspire good times among neighbors, the shared spaces and curated activities are hosted at each of Urby’s locations in Staten Island, Jersey City and Harrison, NJ (and a fourth location set to open in Stamford, CT this fall).
Journal Squared
Recently, in a sleek lounge with killer views of the Manhattan skyline, a crowd of 150 people gathered, eager to sip rosé and enjoy conversations over small plates. What appears to be an after-work hotspot is actually “happy hour” at Journal Squared, a new, soaring luxury rental development in Jersey City—where everyone attending lives in the building.
