Horizon Yachts launches a new Horizon FD80 that will soon be available to the U.S. market. The yacht’s design allows for a four-stateroom layout with an on-deck master, an enclosed skylounge, expansive deck spaces and a beach club plus crew quarters. This is the first FD80 in the U.S. to feature an open galley design and also the first model to be fitted with Caterpillar 1,600bhp engines and the Garmin Surround View six-camera “Birdseye” system. Horizon’s proprietary High Performance Piercing Bow and hull design provides superior comfort and stability.
The aft deck features cozy seating and a dining area with a large dining table that can be positioned either alongside the fixed settee or in the center of the deck to comfortably seat eight for alfresco meals. Fully opening glass partitions create an indoor/outdoor feel between this space and the main salon, which features a spacious lounging area with a leather L- shaped sofa, arm chair and a dayhead aft to port. A fold-down television and entertainment center are situated opposite. The open ambiance is enhanced with white ash flooring and white oak finishes with walnut.
This particular design offers an open galley configuration, creating a truly open-plan feel on the main deck. A large center island with three stools serves as a focalpoint, and full-size refrigerator/freezers provide storage to the well-equipped space. Here, a Cambria Brittanicca floor and high-gloss lacquered finishes complement the satin white oak cabinetry and Cambria Harrogate countertops and backsplash.
A backlit staircase ascends to the skylounge and wheelhouse above. The master stateroom with a built-in sofa to port, plentiful storage and cedar-lined closet spaces, accupies the forwardmost section of the main deck.
On the lower deck, an alternating dark/blonde walnut stairwell leads to the guest foyer with white oak and walnut-wrapped storage. A VIP with a leatherette headboard and patterned white oak inset is positioned in the bow, while a second VIP ensuite is situated to port. To starboard, a convertible twin ensuite provides flexibility for guests.
Aft of the engine room, the FD80 features crew quarters for four and a crew mess, which conveniently services the beach club and swim platform aft through a Hi/Lo pass-through window. On the upper deck, the wheelhouse is fitted with twin helm chairs and a customized ergonomic helm design integrated with three 22” Garmin displays, twin radars, and the Maretron monitoring and Octoplex control systems.
The guest area aft includes a dayhead and an L-shaped lounging area with custom ottomans and a Hi/Lo dining/coffee table opposite a pop-up television and entertainment console. The boat deck aft features freestanding furniture, a wet bar and BBQ can be shaded by an awning. The yacht’s foredeck offers an additional entertaining area, with a U-shaped settee and dinettes, and a large sunpad that also can be shaded by awnings.
The new Horizon FD80 will debut at the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (October 26 – 30, 2022).
