A leading tourism conservation organization Great Plains revealed its top three most luxurious suites set in some of the best game-viewing areas of Botswana.
Zarafa Dhow Suite, Zarafa Camp, Botswana
Great Plains Zarafa Dhow Suite is located next to 100% solar-powered and plastic-free Zarafa Camp, overlooking the Zibadianja Lagoon on the private 130,000 hectare Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana. The 2,260 square foot two-bedroom suite is set on raised decking and features a complete lounge and dining area, two large bedrooms with open layout bathrooms and copper claw-foot baths, a large decking area with an exercise bike, firepit, and a large private pool where guests can view elephants passing by alongside the pristine Botswana wilderness.
Guests at the villa are privately guided and hosted, with the nightly rates including the services of a private game drive vehicle, guide and chef. This one of the most luxurious suites in Africa can accommodate four adults sharing or a maximum of up to five persons if travelling as a family.
Duba Plains Suite, Duba Plains Camp, Botswana
Tucked into the pristine Okavango Delta wildlife habitat, the Duba Plains Suite is a two-bedroom tented villa located on the 33,000-hectare private Duba Plains Reserve. It is raised on recycled railway sleeper decking and offers guests fabulous views of wildlife. The Suite has a wrap-around private veranda, a private plunge pool, a shaded outdoor sala, an indoor lounge, and a dining area. The bedrooms feature beautifully appointed en-suite facilities, including indoor and outdoor showers and a luxurious bath.
Guests of the Duba Plains Suite enjoy the services of a private vehicle, guide, private host, and chef.
Selinda Suite, Selinda Camp, Botswana
The private, two-bedroomed Selinda Suite is positioned on the banks of Botswana’s Selinda Spillway as it enters the Linyanti River in the 320,000-acre Selinda Reserve. One of the most pristine wilderness areas left on our planet, the reserve features large herds of elephants and regular sightings of the Selinda pack of African wild dogs.
The Selinda Suite, which resembles the home of the thatched village of Sangwali, features two beautifully appointed suites, an open-air, yet covered indoor dining and lounge area, a large private veranda, and a swimming pool. Each guest suite has an en-suite bathroom and indoor shower and is designed with its own unique color palette and theme.
The two-bedroomed Selinda Suite operates exclusively of the main Selinda Camp, and nightly rates include the services of a private vehicle, safari guide, chef, manager/butler, and a separate entrance to the residence. Guests will be invited to enjoy early morning and late afternoon safari drives that only return after sunset, guided walks, boating, tracking, birding, and other bespoke wildlife viewing activities.
