Dutch company U-Boat Worx revealed more details about Super Sub, its ultra-luxury three-person submersible. With a depth rating of 300 meters, it is now the most flow-dynamic submersible in the world. With the help of MARIN, the renowned Dutch maritime research institute specializing in computational flow dynamics, the top speed of the Super Sub was optimized from its initial 8-knot estimation up to as much as 10 knots.
With the same efficient flow dynamics as an electric car, the Super Sub is 7 knots faster than the average submersible.

Presented in 2021, the Super Sub is U-Boat Worx’ fastest and most maneuverable submersible. It offers a dynamic dive experience and have capasity to deal with strong currents. The submersible has been sold to its first owner and U-Boat Worx is executing sea trials in Spring 2023. The submersible is fitted with the best-in-class propulsion system and four powerful thrusters delivering 60 kW of thrust. When combined with the rudders, it allows for steep 30-degree climbs and dives.
The vessel also features a clear fully acrylic pressure hull that has been positioned at the front of the submersible, providing an unobstructed view in every direction, unimpeded by ballast tanks, batteries and other components. The innovative Hydrofoils on the back of the submarine allow it to direct the flow of the thrust in a more effective way. Making it possible to make sharp turns.
