In the first half of July, Wally will launch the first unit of the new WHY range which is expected to shake up the world of yacht design. The WHY200 motor yacht offers the comfort and space of a larger displacement yacht with the speed and performance of a semi-displacement. She was developed by Wally design team led by Luca Bassani, in collaboration with the Ferretti Group Engineering Department, working with Laurent Giles NA Ltd for naval architecture and Studio A. Vallicelli & C for interior design.
The 27m WHY200 boasts a 4.7-meter-high glazed bow that features a stunning 37 m2 master suite with an uninterrupted 270-degree view of the horizon. Since the engine room is located at the opposite end of the yacht, this cabin stands offers an exceptional noise levels. The upper deck features a glass and carbon dome, and the extended, structural top with no supporting pillars.
Wrapped in an exclussive ” Wally Silver” color, the first unit will feature a four-cabin layout: the master cabin with two separate bathrooms on the main deck, a VIP and two guest cabins on the lower deck. Among her standout features is the jaw-droppig one-piece laminated carbon staircase that connects the three decks. Open-pore teak is used for the furniture. The walkways of the two living halls and the lower deck corridor are also teak.
Thanks to the 5G wireless network connection with home automation control, it will be easy to manage all the audio/video systems via mobile devices, both outside and inside the yacht. Naviop’s integrated system allows the navigation data to be checked. The first unit will feature a state-of- the-art 55 inch TV in the upper living room and a 5.1 Premium sound system on the main and upper decks, while a Sonance sound system will serve the outdoor areas.
The WHY200 features the folding beach club bulwarks that offer access to the sea on three sides and expand the living area to 32 m2. There are two garages that are capable of accommodating a 4.05m jet tender, wave runner, seabob, paddleboard and all manner of water toys.
The first unit is powered by four Volvo Penta D-13 IPS 1350 engines 1000 hp each. The yacht can travel at any speed (23 knots top speed), maintaining a horizontal position. Its width combined with the fin stabilisers ensures greater stability.
She will be officially unveiled at Cannes Yachting Festival (7-12 September). Alongside WHY200, two of the most recent Wally models will be in the water: the 43wallytender X and the 48wallytender X while and the 48wallytender.
