Following two initial releases First Run and Winter Run that both were sold out in days, celebrity-fronted whiskey brand Wolves Whiskey will release its newest expression on May 19th. Spring Run is a unique California whiskey created by James Bond (co-founder of Undefeated, one of the most recognized sneaker boutiques in the world) and Jon Buscemi (an Italian-American fashion designer known for his work at Oliver Peoples, co-founding Gourmet, and his eponymous brand Buscemi). This year’s release is a blend of various whiskeys, distilled in California by a 13th generation Master Distiller, Marko Karakasevic, using a rare, copper brandy pot still imported from Cognac, France in 1983.
Wolves Whiskey Spring Run consists of four different whiskeys:
- Whiskey distilled from finished Stout craft beer, aged in French Oak for 10 years
- Whiskey distilled from finished Pilsner beer, aged in New American Oak, Char 3, for 6 years
- A Rye selected for its spice
- A single malt whiskey distilled from two-row malted barley and aged in used French Oak for 9 years
The result is a colossal intensity of flavors that includes tangerine, dark chocolate, hops, oak, citrus, nutmeg, followed by a spicy finish.
Each bottle is wrapped by hand in custom-dyed Robin’s Egg blue sheepskin. The cork top is made of maple wood. Each sheepskin label is numbered by hand. The bottle is packaged into the custom canvas sleeve.
Only 1110 bottles of the Spring Run blend were yielded for the market. A portion of these bottles will be available first to the Wolves Allocation List on May 19th, 2021 at WolvesWhiskeyCA.com. The $200 Spring Run will be the last ‘Run’ that Wolves releases for a while. The brand’s next release is a new, limited concept in collaboration with Willett Family Estate.
