Zaha Hadid-designed 39-unit luxury building in Manhattan her first residential project in New York City
An Iraqi-British architect Dame Zaha Hadid is the ruler of contemporary iconic architecture. The first woman recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize, will soon offer the world the new luxury apartments at 520 West 28th Street, New York, the building that will define the Manhattan real estate. Developer Related Companies broke ground in 2014, and the building should open by early 2017.
Located in the trendy, art-centric neighborhood of West Chelsea, the 11-story building designed by Zaha Hadid is being constructed next to the popular High Line park, which stretches from the recently opened Whitney Museum at its south end to the Hudson Yards development at its north. Ranging in size from 1,691 square feet to 6,618 square feet, the apartments will feature two- to five-bedrooms, will both contemporary aesthetics and the modern amenities. Immersed in Zaha Hadid’s signature innovative, fluid and dynamic style, the newest NYC units will feature white oak flooring, the kitchen will be highlighted by an island of sculpted white marble designed by the architect herself. Master bedroom suites feature expansive private balconies with glass doors that slide open at the push of a button. Moreover, the luxury apartments which are selling from $5 to $50 million, will have the freshest air that will be filtered four times and then pumped into every apartment.
