Zenith unveiled a pair of Chronomaster Original models in diamonds with either a multicolored mother-of-pearl dial or taupe tri-color dial. These pieces were presented during the first “MEET THE DREAMHERS” event in Madrid, where guests were invited to celebrate a group of accomplished women known as the ZENITH DREAMHERS.
The tri-color dial with chronograph counters in the grey and blue is replaced by a similar but brighter hues entirely rendered in mother-of-pearl. To achive the necessary shades, four different colors of mother-of-pearl were used: white mother-of-pearl for the dial, two shades of blue for the chronograph counters, and grey mother-of-pearl for the constant seconds. The second version uses three tones of taupe-brown in the signature tri-color layout against a satin-white dial. Both dials are embellished with 9 diamonds for the hour markers.
The 38mm steel case is the same size as the regular Chronomaster Original but it dazzles with 56 expertly set brilliant white diamonds on the lugs. Both versions of the watch are paired with soft calfskin leather straps in either light blue or taupe with tone-on-tone stitching, matching the colors of their dials. The timepiece with the light blue strap retails for $13,000 USD, while the watch with the brown strap retails for $12,800 USD.
The new Chronomaster Original references are fitted with the latest generation of the renowned automatic chronograph calibre, the El Primero 3600. Although it beats at the same high frequency of 5Hz (36’000 VpH) as its predecessor, its performance has been enhanced to offer a 1/10th of a second chronograph function. It boasts an extended power reserve of 60 hours.
