In 2019, Zenith launched the Chronomaster A384 Lupin The Third, the first watch ever made to be inspired by a Japanese anime series. After the overwhelming success of the first series, the watchmaker unveiled the Chronomaster Revival Lupin The Third – 2nd Edition, and this year concludes the trilogy with the Chronomaster Revival Lupin The Third – Final Edition.
Three years ago, Zenith became the first manufacture to produce a watch directly inspired by a depiction in a Japanese manga and anime series. In the very first episode of the animated Lupin The Third series, Daisuke Jigen, the debonair right-hand man and best friend of the title character Arsène Lupin III, is depicted wearing a watch based on the A384 with a black, grey and gilt dial that had never actually existed. And in the final episode of the first series, Jigen is again portrayed to be wearing another Zenith chronograph, but with a different “panda” dial that also never existed. Nearly 50 years after the initial airing of the anime series, Zenith brought fantasy into reality by producing the trilogy of limited-edition watches.
Limited to 250 pieces, the Chronomaster Revival Lupin The Third – Final Edition combines the two distinct dials from Zenith’s previous two special editions inspired by Lupin the Third. On the left, the watch features a semi-glossy black dial with grey counters and golden markers and hands from the first edition. On the right, the creamy-white dial with contrasting black counters in a “panda” configuration is inspired by the second edition.
This exceptional dual dial, which requires an unprecedented level of precision to handcraft due to its contrasting colors and materials, is housed in a 37 mm titanium case in the proportions of the famed 1969 A384. Beating within is the El Primero 400 automatic integrated chronograph, which displays an engraving of Daisuke Jigen through its sapphire caseback.
The Chronomaster Revival Lupin The Third – Final Edition is available at Zenith physical boutiques and online boutiques around the world. This watch is limited to 250 pieces and will retail for $10,000 USD.
